Education and Workshops

Joe’s educational workshops work best as half days delivered to a group of about 30 students. Typically they start with a short introduction to the medium and history of puppetry followed by a 45-minute production. After the show there is always an opportunity for Q&As followed by a short break. He then leads an amusing “Blue Peter” style “Make” which clearly demonstrates all the steps required to make the puppets and theatre using easily found materials with plenty of creative scope. This is an inspirational opportunity to watch and be part of a very unusual kind of puppet theatre that will inspire the group to create their own exciting stories and show. School groups will receive teacher’s notes with clear instructions and ideas that can be used as follow-up and extension activities.
